Michelle Martinez works at ChessKid as Director of Enterprise Strategy, partnering with school districts and educators to grow the game globally. She has served as a US Chess Delegate for Arizona for nearly a decade and actively contributes to multiple US Chess national committees, including Nominating, States & Affiliates, and Scholastic. She also serves as a Trustee of the US Chess Trust. Michelle was honored with the 2025 US Chess Scholastic Service Award in recognition of her long standing service to scholastic chess at the local and national levels. Locally, she serves as President of the Southern Arizona Chess Association and as a Board Member for the Arizona Chess Federation. She is a longtime tournament director and event organizer, leading Arizona State Scholastic Championships and supporting tournaments across the state and beyond. A frequent member of Chess Control at US Chess National tournaments, Michelle most recently served as Chess Control Supervisor at SuperNationals VIII.
