A co-owner at Silver Knights Chess Academy, Daniel has overseen the company’s growth from 10 locations and a few hundred students in 2009 to more than 350 sites and 15,000+ students each year in after school programs, summer camps, and tournaments.  In addition, he spearheaded the launch of the Online Academy program which serves students from all 50 states and around the world, including 11 state champions in 2025.  Daniel is a lifelong tournament chess player who has been coaching for more than 15 years.  He’s taught a few state and national champions, a bunch of players in the top 100 in the country for their age group, and thousands of kids who love playing chess! He lives in Northern Virginia, with his wife, children, and 23 toed cat.
