John Foley is Director of ChessPlus and Chair of the Education Commission of the European Chess Union (ECU).
John develops and delivers professional development programs for teachers and education leaders who wish to integrate chess into the curriculum.
He is responsible for the strategic direction of the ECU Education Commission, including research, training, and policy advocacy on chess in education across Europe.
John also leads initiatives in teacher certification, evidence-based methodology, and cross-sector collaboration, working with universities, ministries of education, and NGOs.
He has contributed to numerous publications and is widely recognized as a thought leader in the cognitive and social benefits of structured chess instruction.
