Dr. Jenny D. Ingber serves as President and CEO of Chess in the Schools, a pioneering New York City nonprofit dedicated to unlocking the potential of low-income youth through the game of chess. A seasoned educator and leader in the nonprofit sector, Dr. Ingber brings a rich background in education, having previously directed the Children and Family Learning Program at the American Museum of Natural History.
She holds a Ph.D. in Science Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has designed and led innovative teaching and curriculum initiatives at institutions including Bank Street Graduate School of Education and the University of California, Los Angeles. At Chess in the Schools, Dr. Ingber combines data-driven leadership with a deep belief in the transformative power of chess to foster intellectual curiosity, confidence, and connection among young people. Under her direction, Chess in the Schools continues to expand its reach across all five boroughs, helping students thrive both on and beyond the chessboard.
